Dear Friend,
You are built for the life you have. As I reflect on the conversations I've been having with people over the last few days, it's clear that many are struggling in particular areas. Primarily, people are struggling to submit to the calling on their lives and enduring the subsequent sacrifices associated.
Of course, I am highly sympathetic to this particular struggle because I've not made it to the land called there either. However, daily I choose to show up and travel the path that was uniquely designed for me.
A few years ago, I had Luke 12:48 tattooed on me before I knew what I was doing.
When someone has been given much, much will be required in return; and when someone has been entrusted with much, even more will be required (NLT).
I say I didn't know what I was doing because I didn't know the weight of that Scripture before I came into agreement with it. This Scripture literally tells us that the measure by which God gives to us, He expects that same measure back. And it's not just to Him, but it extends to our brothers and sisters in Christ and even those who are unbelievers.
Long story short, a few years ago, I understood the significance of that Scripture, and it feels like I've been in tears ever since then lol. I'm serious, though.
Your life will make demands of you. In fact, you're wired to meet those demands whether your flesh feels like it or not. You were crafted to do a specific job for Christ on earth. You were equipped. You were protected for this moment.
If you're currently at a crossroads where you're considering turning back to your past, I want to tell you that you no longer fit there. The grass isn't greener there.
You're not the same person.
You have changed.
You have matured.
You will face deadlier challenges if you turn around.
Your past might claim your life.
Understand that this is just what is required of you. Every journey will have seasons of difficulty, which is why Ecclesiastes 3 tells us that there are times and seasons for everything.
The great thing about seasons is that that change, but they only change when their time is up.
Could it be that God is preparing you for everything you've been praying for?
Could it be that you indirectly prayed for this season as you directly prayed for the next?
Could you be standing in the middle of an answered prayer?
You must understand that the life He promised you requires that you endure this season.
There are no short cuts.
You shouldn't want them anyway.
