Ignorance Will Cost You

Recently, as I’ve reflected on my journey as a kingdom citizen, I recognize the importance of understanding my authority and identity as a daughter of God.  I’ve also come to the conclusion that ignorance will cost you.

My people perish for lack of knowledge (of my law where I reveal My will) (Hosea 4:6 TPT)

Many people are navigating this life without understanding foundational principles, often overlooking THE instruction manual- finding it ‘boring' and 'inconvenient.’ This lack of knowledge eventually but surely manifests itself as  wasted time and effort.

Here are four essential kingdom truths you can’t afford to ignore:

  1. Prayer is Essential: In this kingdom, prayerlessness has consequences. Pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18), just as Jesus prioritized intimacy with God the Father over life’s challenges and troubles. It was in the secret place that He was endowed with strength and capacity. Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness - then everything else will be added unto you (Matthew 6:33)

  2. Know Whom You Have Believed and be fully persuaded that He's able to do that which you have committed unto him (2 Timothy 1:12). Strong’s Concordance defines 'knowing God' (yada) as to perceive and see Him, find out and discern Him, or know Him by experience. Your history with God is what strengthens and carries you through tough situations, keeping fear and anxiety at bay (Psalm 77:11-12) Those that know their God shall be strong and carry out great exploits (Daniel 11:32)

  3. Recognize the Holy Spirit’s Voice: Jesus said His sheep know His voice  and a stranger they will not follow (John 10:4-5) The Holy Spirit, sent to and for us as our counselor, advisor and comforter searches the deep things of God and reveals them to us (1 Corinthians 2:10) Ignoring His guidance is like a blind person walking without direction.

  4. Trust in God’s Word: Heaven and earth will pass away, but God's Word endures (Matthew 24:35) Scripture holds the answers to life’s challenges as there is nothing new under the sun (Ecclesiastes 1:9) God is faithful;. He does not lie (Numbers 23:19) Once the Lord decrees a thing, His word must accomplish that which He has sent it to do (Isaiah 55:11) All creation responds to God’s word. The Word and the Blood of Jesus are your weapons of choice against principalities of darkness.

Don’t navigate this life without understanding. Pursue knowledge of God’s kingdom principles to be an effective witness and enjoy the abundant zoe life He offers.
