I Don't Understand, But I Agree

I’m sure many, if not all of us, can agree that not everything God tells us to do makes sense. This season, I feel like I’ve experienced that more than ever before. There are things that I had to walk away from, lay down, or even walk into that just didn’t make sense, so naturally, I was hesitant to do them.
I didn’t understand the why, when, or how, but the truth is I’m not supposed to. After spending so much time trying to figure things out and understand what was going on, I found myself exhausted and very much at the end of myself. I remember saying to God, “I don’t understand, I don’t get it, and some of it don’t like, but I agree.”

That’s when it hit me, and that’s when things changed. I realized I was in my own way and how powerful my agreement was.
I blamed my desire for a deeper understanding of what God was doing on not wanting to move without wisdom or strategy. Yes, God gives us wisdom and strategy, but He also requires faith from us. The Bible tells us that “faith is the substance of things hoped for and evidence of the unseen (Hebrews 11:1), and without faith, we can’t please God (Hebrews 11:6).
Trying to have it all figured out leaves little to no room for faith. The truth is we’re not supposed to have it all figured out to give God our “yes.” Some things we say yes to won’t make sense. In the words of Pastor Brittany Morton, “We’re trying to make sense out of things that are supposed to make faith.”
The more I agreed and moved in faith, the more strategy and wisdom came. Had He given me all the details beforehand, I would have gone by my understanding of things and even taken matters into my own hands, relying on my own straight. He wanted me to rely on His Straight and trust in His wisdom and strategy.
God isn’t looking for us to understand things or have all the details figured out, but He is looking for us to agree. He’s looking to us to agree and partner with Heaven for what He’s doing in our lives. Our agreement with God is powerful!
The moment we agree and move out of the way, Heaven can move on our behalf, and things begin to unlock. It may not make sense at the moment. You may not even like it, but the moment you agree with God, Heaven will move on your behalf, and at the right time, things will begin to come into place.
