Five To Thrive in '25

I remember very clearly journaling at the beginning of 2024 when I received a beautiful, divinely inspired rhyme from the Holy Spirit. It was clear - 2024 was the year of more, and it was a set up for us to thrive in 2025.

Golden "2025" balloons burst from an open gift box with a golden bow. Striped ornaments float around, set against a white background.

One phrase kept echoing in my heart: “Five to thrive in '25.” I kept asking the Holy Spirit to reveal the five key things I'd need to thrive this year. After all, if 2024 was a year of preparation, 2025 would be the year of manifestation. As I sought His guidance, He gave me five powerful things to focus on for this year. Here’s what He revealed:

  1. Pray About ALL Things

Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything (Philippians 4:6 NLT).

Pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17 ESV).

And this is the confidence that we have toward Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of Him (1 John 5:14-15 ESV).

I love how the Bible uses the word all because it means nothing is off-limits- no prayer request is too small, and no ask is too big. Prayer isn’t a routine or ritual; it’s a direct line to God’s heart. In 2025, we must make prayer a constant part of our lives, seeking God’s direction, wisdom, and intervention in every area of life. If you ever find yourself unsure of what to pray or how to pray, don't worry! The Holy Spirit is there to help you (Romans 8:26-27 ESV).

  1. Engage The Holy Spirit

In these tumultuous times, you simply can't afford to navigate life without the Holy Spirit. He is our constant Helper, Counselor, and Guide.

However, I am telling you nothing but the truth when I say it is profitable for you that I go away. Because if I do not go away, the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Advocate, Intercessor, Strengthener, Standby) will not come to you; but if I go away, I will send Him to you. (John 16:7 AMPC).

If you need to know the truth about any situation, ask Him. If you need help or wisdom in any matter, consult Him. He's always ready to guide you. Take advantage of who He is- the spirit of the Lord, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and strength, the spirit of knowledge and the fear of the LORD. (Isaiah 11:2-3 NIV) This is the same Holy Spirit available to us! He Spirit isn’t meant to be a passive presence in our lives. He wants to actively lead, empower, and teach us.

  1. Make God's Word THE Standard

If you participated in the Let There Be Challenge, you know firsthand the power of speaking and decreeing based on God’s Word. In 2025, we must continue to immerse ourselves in His Word because it's the foundation of the authority we wield as believers.

The Word of God is alive and active, sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12). In 2025, let His Word be your anchor, your source of truth, and your compass as you navigate the year ahead. Whenever you encounter challenges or confusion, always cross-reference with the Bible. What does God’s Word say? What is His promise? Refuse to believe anything that contradicts His truth. Immerse yourself in the Scriptures, and let them shape your thoughts, decisions, and actions.

4. Focus On Family

The Lord wants to bring healing and unity back into our families. A house divided against itself cannot stand, and one of the keys to thriving this year will be to build and nurture our families.

The strength of our families is the foundation for thriving in every other area of life. Make it a priority to cultivate healthy, loving relationships within your family. Be intentional about spending quality time with loved ones, teaching them the ways of the Lord, and growing together in faith.

For those of us for whom family might be a prickly topic, seek the wisdom of the Holy Spirit. Ask Him to teach you how to navigate difficult relationships and show you what you can begin to do. He always has a way, and His wisdom is never lacking. Trust that He'll provide the grace and strategies needed to restore and strengthen your family relationships.

5. Take Holy Communion Often

I was unsure about adding this, but the Holy Spirit was emphatic about it. I encourage you to ask the Holy Spirit to teach you about the significance of communion. It's more than a symbolic act- it’s an invitation to commune deeply with the Lord and to reaffirm the new and everlasting covenant we have with Jesus through His body and blood.

and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me." In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me." (1 Corinthians 11:24-25 NIV).

This year, make it a point to partake Communion often, reflecting on its true meaning as a powerful practice of intimacy and relationship.

Additionally, declare the words of Psalm 91 over your life every day. There are promises of protection, peace, and deliverance here are powerful declarations that align us with God’s faithfulness

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, 'He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust (Psalm 91:1-2 NIV).

If 2024 was the setup for more, 2025 is the year to see it unfold. As we embrace these five principles wholeheartedly, let's move in the expectation that God is about to do something extraordinary in our lives this year.

What are you focusing on as you step into 2025? I’d love to hear your thoughts and how you plan to thrive this year. Leave a comment below and let’s encourage one another along!
