Dear Friend,
Happy Wednesday! I'm sure you know by now, but the enemy has the legal right to challenge any good you're doing. I know that may seem unfair, especially if you're obeying God, but I don't make the rules. This is why we must get out of our feelings because if we aren't careful, our emotions will always lead us right into hell's camp.
For a few months now, I've been trying to focus all of my intention on God and His plans for me; kind of like when Peter got out of the boat in the Bible. As long as Peter kept His eyes on Jesus and what He spoke to him, he could walk on water. However, Peter sank when he began to pay attention to his surroundings.
In my own life, I've been intentionally trying not to be defensive but offensive. Since I'm serious about living a soft life, I'm not interested in toiling, striving, or hardship. At one point, I was addicted to those things, but not anymore. With that said, my only battle strategy these days is the Word of God. In this season, James 4:7 is my best friend:
"Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."
My only plan is to submit myself to God because the Scripture tells me if I do this, then there is a corresponding action. However, I must not only submit myself to God but also resist the devil. Here, we see two things we must do to have victory: submit and resist.
I understand that this might not be easy, but this is the strategy that I've been employing, and it's kept me standing. Ultimately, since I've changed my approach over the past few months, I've forced the enemy to change his tactics too. In the past, I would fall apart after a certain point of resistance. When I say fall apart, I mean have an immature tantrum. However, my new strategy won't allow room for that. My new approach is forcing me to stand.
It would be naive to think that satan would let me slide just because I've employed a new strategy, though. He has too much stake in the game for that lol. So I'm sure you can guess what he did...
Yup, launched another attack that almost worked.
I talk about this experience in my recent podcast on YouTube. Be sure to check it out because you don't have to make things easy for the enemy to destroy you. In fact, you should NEVER make it easy for him.
You have power to submit and resist. Use it!
