Unlock Your Next Season Now

Dear Friend,

In our walk with God, we are often called to seasons of sacrifice because there is no next level without this level's sacrifice. In fact, this concept is deeply rooted in Scripture, and it carries profound significance for our spiritual growth.

Let me explain...

The Biblical Foundation

The Bible is replete with stories of individuals who made sacrifices at their current level to reach the next. Consider Abraham, who left his homeland and family to follow God's call (Genesis 12:1-4). Moses led the Israelites through the desert for 40 years, sacrificing comfort and personal desires for the promise of the Promised Land. Jesus, Himself, the ultimate example, sacrificed His life on this earthly plane to bring salvation to humanity (Philippians 2:5-8).

Growth Through Obedience

One of the primary reasons we must sacrifice on our current level is obedience to God's call. Often, God calls us to make changes in our lives that may seem uncomfortable or challenging. I get that; however, these sacrifices, which may include letting go of comfortable habits or forgiving others, redirect our priorities to align with God's will.

Do we not believe that God's plan for our lives is far greater than our own?

Ultimately, sacrificing on this level through obedience demonstrates our trust in God's wisdom and His promises. Through these acts of faith, we grow spiritually and draw closer to Him.

Break the Chains

Of course, the world constantly bombards us with empty pursuits, self-centeredness, and the pursuit of false pleasures. Yet, to move to the next level in our lives, we must break free from any chains that hinder our spiritual progress.

In this case, sacrificing on this level often means letting go of attachments to unhealthy relationships or selfish ambitions. Doing so creates space in our hearts and lives for God to work more deeply. We open ourselves to His transformative power and allow His priorities to become our own.

The Power of Humility

Sacrifice requires humility because it acknowledges that we are not in control and need God's guidance and intervention in our lives. In Philippians 2:3-4, Paul writes, "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others."

Essentially, when we willingly sacrifice our own desires and interests for the sake of God and others, we embody the spirit of humility that Christ exemplified. This humble attitude is essential for spiritual growth and a deeper relationship with God.

A Witness to Others

Our willingness to sacrifice serves as a powerful witness to those around us. When others see us making sacrifices for the sake of our faith, they are more likely to be drawn to the message of Christ. Essentially, our actions become a living testimony to the transformative power of God in our lives.

In Matthew 5:16, Jesus encourages us to let our light shine before others, so they may see our good works and glorify our Father in heaven. Therefore, by sacrificial living, we grow in our faith and have the opportunity to lead others to Christ by demonstrating the authenticity of our beliefs through our actions.

Preparing for Greater Responsibilities

God often calls us to higher levels of service and responsibility as we grow in our faith. Just as in the Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14-30), where the faithful servants who invested their talents wisely were entrusted with greater responsibilities, we too must be prepared to handle more significant tasks in the Kingdom.

Ultimately, sacrificing on this level equips us with the spiritual maturity, wisdom, and character necessary to fulfill God's calling on our lives. It also refines our character, strengthens our faith, and deepens our reliance on God, which He loves.

Remember, when we are faithful with the small things, God can entrust us with greater opportunities for His Kingdom's work.

So let me remind you that sacrificing on our current level is a foundational principle in our journey because it demonstrates our obedience to God, helps us break free from destructive patterns, fosters humility, serves as a witness to others, and prepares us for greater responsibilities in God's Kingdom. Lastly, as we embrace sacrificial living, we grow closer to God and become vessels through which His transformative love and grace can flow into the lives of those around us.
