I Saved 4-Figures in 30 Days

Dear Friend,
A few days ago, I announced that I was in the process of rebuilding my life from the ground up. By ground up, I mean from $35 in my savings account at the end of March. While I never thought that I'd be at this point, more specifically, I never thought that God would let me hit rock bottom after sacrificing everything, here I am.

While I could list out the range of emotions that I've felt over this past year, I'll spare you the trauma and just let you know that I'm here and I'm going to take back control of my life. Not because I want to, but because I have to at this point. I've run out of time. This is why I started the Recession Millionaires Playlist and the Q2 savings challenge that I mentioned in Friday's email.
With the Q2 savings challenge in mind, I have a 30-day update. 30 days ago, I told myself that I had to work dilligently to secure my financial life again. I told myself that I had to focus though I have no stable income. I told myself that I had to use all my gifts, talents, and skills to ensure that I didn't face housing insecurity and financial ruin. I told myself that I had to thrive.
This morning, I released a video on Youtube talking through the last 30 days. I reminded people about where I was financially when I first started this journey 11 months ago, where I was 30 days ago, and where I am now. If you're interested in my reflections, please check out the video. But, ultimately, here's the cliffnotes version of what I highlighted.

As you can see, I've managed to save $5,000 in 30 days using my gifts, talents, skills, and all the strategies that helped me build wealth the first time around. Essentially, I had to believe that if I had done it once with assistance (my career) then I could surely do it again though the odds appear to be stacked against me.
So I write this post to you as encouragement. You must know that you can do whatever you put your mind to, and you don't have to compromise or sellout to do it. You don't have to always do what other people are doing either. All you have to do is hone your gifts, talents, and skills, and stop being scary.
On this journey of building wealth, you shouldn't care about perfection. You should care about consistency, impact and reaching your goals. So cheers to the messiness of the journey because Lord knows I've been crying everywhere.
