What if God is waiting for your yes?
We are described as the body of Christ. Just as one body has many parts, so does God’s body. In fact, this is illustrated beautifully in 1 Corinthians 12:15. Paul says, “Now if the foot should say, ‘Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,’ it would not for that reason stop being part of the body.” Given this, I think it’s safe to say that we are not only the body of Christ but the very hands and feet of Jesus. Therefore, He wants our obedience so that He can get what He has for other people into the Earth through us.
Think for a second about your Let There Be Declarations. You are declaring 40 pretty amazing things, right? You obviously cannot make these things happen on your own, or they wouldn’t be a declaration. Instead, it would be on your “things to do” list. And yes, God can make it happen. In fact, He will meet ALL of our needs according to HIS riches and glory (Phil 4:19). But what if his riches and glory for someone else are already in your hand? For some things to happen, God needs us to do it. He needs us to say yes.
You don’t know why you have this extra bedroom set in your garage, or you may have plans for that extra money you saved, or <<insert your situation here>>.
“Jesus replied, “You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.” John 13:7 NIV
Look back on an answered prayer in your own life. The time when someone came through and did something you weren’t expecting, or you got a call that you’ve been waiting for. It’s because they had the answer to your prayers in their hand. They had to be obedient and listen to God regarding whom to bless. Maybe it was when your dream job was deciding between several candidates, but something about you stood out. Perhaps it was a bill that was paid through some program you hadn’t previously heard of. Whatever it was, someone was holding the answer to your prayer in their hand. Now, apply that to yourself. Say it with me: I AM the answer to someone’s prayers. I HAVE something my brother or sister in Christ is praying and believing for.
“The one who blesses others is abundantly blessed; those who help others are helped” (Proverbs 11:25 NLT).
Whatever God is telling you to do today, say yes.
