When I think of times of transition, my mind immediately goes to how scary it is. How about
you? What emotions bubble to the surface when you think of your own transitions? One thing is for sure, if you want to know what’s in your heart, just go through some transitions. God will show you exactly what lies there.
In Isaiah 66:7-9 God shows us the truth of a season of transition. It says that before the birth
pains even begin, Jerusalem gives birth to a son (NLT). Before you even begin to feel the
pain of your season, the Lord has already done it. That’s such a freeing thought. Here we are
trying to figure out how to make things work, and it’s already done! We're so busy looking at
the looming transition that we don’t even notice that God already made a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert (Isaiah 43:19)
Going back to our foundational scripture, Isaiah 66:7-9, verse 8 sobers us. It's a reminder that a nation isn’t born in a day. Which means that the result of your transition isn’t going to be fully realized in a mere moment. We will still have to walk that thing out. But again, by the time we start to feel it, God assures us that it's already done.
Right on cue, because God knows that we still need a little bit more convincing, He gives us verse 9: “Would I ever bring this nation to the point of birth and then not deliver it?” asks the Lord. “No! I would never keep this nation from being born,” says your God.”
Like the old folks say “He didn’t bring me this far to leave me”. God isn't about to bring you to
this season of transition, let you feel the pain of it, and not bring it to pass. That doesn’t even
align with His character. It’s simply not who God is.
Your good thing is on the way. Yes, the good that the Lord promised you in Romans 8:28 is coming! There is nothing you can do to stop it. In fact, it’s already here. As you walk through your transition, remember that God will never leave you nor forsake you. Be blessed as you remember that you, my love, were created for such a time as this! (Esther 4:14) God has already gone ahead of you.
