Dear Friend,
Yesterday, we started down a new 40-day path. While I know some people may be feeling excited, there are others who are tired. If you're one of the tired folks, I want to talk directly to you. If you're one of the people in total expectancy, I want you to help me cover the others.
To the tired, how is your heart? Generally, when people want to be polite, they ask how you are doing, but that's not what I'm doing here. I want to gauge your emotions, I want to know about the range of your feelings.
How is your heart? Take all the time you need before you move to the following sentence.
Now that you've located yourself, I want to remind you that the Bible tells us that we must worship God in spirit and truth, which means we must be honest as we engage Him. Unfortunately, religion and tradition have conditioned us to do the opposite, but since when has true intimacy been built on a lie? Since when has the God who formed and fashioned you in the womb allowed you to gaslight Him? He doesn't and never will.
We must tell the truth...even the truths we hide from ourselves.
During this challenge, it's okay to be honest with God. Reciting your decrees with tears in your eyes and half-believing is okay, too. I guess I want to give you permission to be human. I want you to tell God the truth, and afterward, I want you to recite your decrees.
Did you notice that I'm asking you to do two different things?
Ultimately, I'm asking you to be honest with your dad while still using your authority to legislate in this realm.
You must, by any means, show up for the job.
Think of it this way: When you're having a bad month, do you decide you won't show up for work? No. Why? Because you won't be able to survive. In the same way, you must show up for your legislative work because you need to be able to thrive.
Remember what Job 22:28 (AMP) shares: “You will also decide and decree a thing, and it will be established for you; And the light [of God’s favor] will shine upon your ways.
Look at the progression: decide, decree, establish.
When you decide, you are making a choice or judgment.
When you decree, you are determining or ordering judicially.
When something is established, it is officially recognized and accepted by the government of a country.
(all of these are definitions that you can find in the dictionary)
I draw your attention to these definitions because they all gesture towards your lawful authority on earth.
Therefore, when times get tough, remember who you are.
When the enemy is fighting you, remember who you are.
When you feel like things won't get better, remember who you are.
God gave you authority before you experienced anything you've walked through or are walking through. Before the disappointment reached you, God told you to subdue.
The plan is still good. He hasn't changed His mind.
You mustn't abdicate your duty because of a temporary season. This, too, shall pass...just like all the other things you've overcome.
Remind yourself of your resumé.
You're more than a conqueror.
We're in this together.
There are more for you than against you.
This is the lowest you'll ever be in your life.
