How to Command Provision When Systems Collapse

For years, I’ve led the Let There Be Challenge, teaching believers how to use their words to legislate in the spirit and call divine order into their lives. During each challenge, I’ve shared how God spoke creation into existence and how “Let there be” was not a suggestion but a command.
But as I was thinking about the believer's right to divine resources and rereading Genesis 1, something in verse 11 stopped me. It was then that I realized I had missed a crucial detail, which is one that feels relevant right now; especially as we watch headlines announce government shutdowns, systems collapsing, paused SNAP benefits, and new waves of layoffs.
And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.' (Genesis 1:11, KJV)
In the past, I focused on God’s creative speech, such as Let there be light, Let there be firmament, etc., but I see now that the pattern shifts slightly. For instance, in verse 11, we see that God doesn’t speak directly to vegetation; instead, He commands the earth to bring it forth.

That means the raw materials for provision were already and have been here. With this in mind, God didn’t create new resources in that moment; He activated what was dormant. Essentially, He instructed the earth to yield what it was holding.
And maybe that’s the revelation we need in this economic season.
It Might Not Be the Enemy But the Earth
Many people are frustrated right now, and I get it. Prices are climbing, benefits are being withheld, and uncertainty is becoming the norm. Naturally, it’s easy to assume the enemy is blocking what God promised or that something spiritual is “tied up.”
But Genesis 1:11 teaches us that not all delay is demonic. Essentially, some resources aren’t locked in Heaven or stolen by the enemy; they could be swallowed by the earth, waiting for a command to release.
If we think about it, the earth has always functioned as a container. Kinda like a living system designed to hold and yield. So when God told it to “bring forth,” we see that it responded instantly and specifically, and that same responsiveness still exists.
So before you blame the devil for what’s not flowing, ask whether you’ve spoken to the ground. Ask whether your words have authorized the earth to release what’s stored within it.
The Earth Is Alive and It Responds
I want to reiterate that creation is not passive, but hears, responds, and even testifies.
For instance, when Abel was killed, “the voice of your brother’s blood cries out to Me from the ground” (Genesis 4:10). Here, we see that the earth absorbed his blood and also cried out. Another example is when Korah and his followers rebelled against Moses and the earth “opened its mouth and swallowed them” (Numbers 16:32). Here, we see that the ground witnessed judgment and carried it out. Lastly, in Exodus 15:12, after the Red Sea swallowed Pharaoh’s army, Moses sang, “You stretched out Your right hand, and the earth swallowed them.” Oh, and if you read your Bible closely, you know that even Jesus confirmed this divine order when He said that if the people were silent, “the stones would cry out.”
What am I saying?
The earth is alive and obedient to God’s voice and responsive to His authority. And because you are made in His image, it recognizes yours too.
To be clear, Heaven never releases a word that the earth cannot fulfill because God’s system is seamless. In my mind, the cycle goes: Heaven speaks, Earth obeys, and humanity benefits.
In this vein, when God gives you instruction, whether to start a business, sow a seed, shift industries, or write the book, then Heaven’s “yes” is already in motion. However, the manifestation often depends on whether the earth has heard your corresponding command.
Do you remember when the psalmist said, “Forever, O Lord, Your word is settled in Heaven”? Well, I must remind you that settling it on earth demands partnership, which requires believers who will echo Heaven’s decree until the ground produces what’s been promised.
I believe that in a time when the world is panicking, believers must become skilled at commanding creation from position.
Addressing New Age Spiritualism
One of the great confusions of our time is that many are awakening to the idea that the earth is alive, but they stop short of the truth. For instance, New Age teachers call it “the universe,” and they thank “energy.” However, Kingdom citizens understand that creation is responsive, and not divine because it’s an instrument and not a deity. To put it plainly, we don’t worship the earth; we work with it under Heaven’s authority.
Think about it: When Jesus calmed the storm, did He pray for peace? No, He spoke it. When He cursed the fig tree, did it instantly obey? Yes. When Joshua commanded the sun to stand still, did it? Yes.
Why?
Because when they spoke directly to creation, they understood that the material world recognizes authorized sound. This is what separates Kingdom authority from counterfeit spirituality.
We don’t “manifest.” We govern.
What I Overlooked and What I’ll Do Now
In past Let There Be Challenges, I focused on teaching you Heaven’s pattern, which was how to declare and create through words. But this year, I’m instructing you to turn your attention to Earth’s response. Because if God had to command the earth to bring forth, then so do we.
And I don't think the earth is necessarily resisting us; it’s waiting for us.
So as shutdowns linger and scarcity grips the world, I’m choosing to speak to the land. I’m commanding buried ideas, hidden resources, and dormant opportunities to rise. Specifically, I’m telling the earth assigned to me: “Bring forth what belongs to my household. Yield in my favor. Produce without delay.”
Because Heaven already said yes. Now it’s time for the earth to obey.
(By the way, I tried this a few days ago, and 4 new brand opportunities have already landed in my lap.)
More soon,
B
