Forbid It!

I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Matthew 16:19

Sometimes, we get frustrated because we feel like God doesn’t hear us or isn’t moving on our behalf. But what if we are the problem? What if we are the drama?

Matthew 16:19 reminds us of our Kingdom authority. Jesus tells us that we now have the keys of the Kingdom of heaven, which means we now have the legal right to legislate. Excitingly, our legislative powers are not limited to promotion; we can stop things from coming to pass. So, you know all those weapons that are forming against you? You have the authority to forbid them from fully taking form.

A few weeks ago, I was under heavy spiritual attack, and much of it concerned the Let There Be Challenge. One day, I was asking God to show me what to do. Ultimately, I needed Him to show me how to fight strategically. As clear as day, He said, “Forbid the attack!” Now, I didn’t immediately do it because sometimes it feels like the power and authority attached to our words is silly; however, I knew that was the enemy’s strategy. I knew that hell wanted to silence me in the fight.

Do you know what happened next?

I sat up in my bed and said, “I forbid the success of every attack that is forming and those that have been launched against me. I forbid the prosperity of hell.”

Things shifted.

As a Kingdom citizen, I used my authority to wage war with those fighting against me because that is my inheritance.

“No weapon that is formed against you will succeed; And every tongue that rises against you in judgment you will condemn. This [peace, righteousness, security, and triumph over opposition] is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And this is their vindication from Me,” says the Lord. Isaiah 54:17 AMP

If anyone attacks you, don’t for a moment suppose that I sent them, And if any should attack, nothing will come of it. I create the blacksmith who fires up his forge and makes a weapon designed to kill. I also create the destroyer— but no weapon that can hurt you has ever been forged. Any accuser who takes you to court will be dismissed as a liar. This is what God’s servants can expect. I’ll see to it that everything works out for the best.” God’s Decree. Isaiah 54:17 MSG

So, whatever is terrorizing you today, I challenge you to use your words to terrorize it. Don’t sit back and take the enemy’s shenanigans; use your words to take back control.
