One of the most powerful lessons I’m learning in 2023 is that God is not static. His methods are flexible. The Bible tells us that He is the same yesterday, today and forever; yet He is doing a new thing.
See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. (Isaiah 43:19)
I attended a conference in 2022 and the main speaker spoke a word that shifted the trajectory of my life. I attended the same conference in 2023, and was looking forward to being blessed again by the main speaker from 2022. I was quite surprised that in 2023, I barely heard or connected with this same man of God who had profoundly altered my life the previous year.
God used someone I'd never heard about to speak into my next assignment and season.
This turn of events baffled me. As I was reflecting on that moment with the Holy Spirit, He revealed to me that God doesn’t move in the same way all the time. I had to be careful not to miss out on God's move in this season because I was looking for Him to show up as He did in the past season.
Jesus healed the blind men on 3 separate occasions, but He did it differently each time.
One He spat into the ground, made clay with the saliva and placed it over the blind man's eyes (John 9:1- 12)
Another He touched two blind men's eyes, and according to their faith, these two received their healing (Matthew 9:27-30)
For blind Bartimaeus, He simply spoke and Bartimaeus received his sight immediately (Mark 10:46-52)
If you participated in the Let There Be Challenged in 2022, and shifts and miracles happened in one way, may your heart remain open to His methods. Maybe He'll have you re-write the 2022 declarations or perhaps He has a whole new set of declarations for you for 2023.
If you're participating for the first time, stay expectant.
I pray you'll all receive everything He has available for you from this challenge, because God is doing a new thing in 2023.
