Don't Be A Victim in 2023
Hey there!
We all say we want to prosper, but few people actually make it happen. I don't want you to be in the number of people who never make it in 2023, so see if any of the things I list below are threatening your progress.
If you identify with any of them, then you must do the hard, but meaningful work of course correcting now.
Thoughts about Themselves: If we aren't careful, our thoughts about ourselves will defeat us long before we try. Research shows that 80% of the thoughts we think are negative, which means we think more self-deprecating thoughts than positive.
Self-deprecating thoughts are negative thoughts about oneself, such as "I am not good enough" or "I always make mistakes." These thoughts can be harmful because they lead to low self-esteem, decreased confidence, and negative self-image. Over time, they can also contribute to the development of mental health issues such as depression and anxiety.
They also prevent us from reaching our full potential and pursuing their goals, since they limit our beliefs in our own abilities and worth. As a result, folks generally participate in self-sabotaging behaviors, which can hinder personal growth and happiness.
Fear of the Unknown: It's true, we don't know what's up ahead, but you face the unknown everyday you wake up and walk outside.
The fear of the unknown keeps people from prospering because it prevents individuals from exploring new opportunities, taking risks, and experiencing personal growth. As a result, it can lead to a lack of confidence and decision-making paralysis, as well as to feelings of anxiety and stress. When people allow the fear of the unknown (or the future) to control their actions, they may miss out on valuable experiences and miss the chance to learn and grow. This fear can also create an inward-looking and isolated perspective, causing you to miss out on the richness and diversity that comes with engaging with new people, cultures, prosperity, and ideas. Ultimately, the fear limits the ability to live a full and meaningful life.
Feeling Overwhelmed: Of course, your destiny feels overwhelming; it's supposed to. If you thought that you could achieve everything on your own then you would not depend on God; therefore, He ensures that you will stay close. Remember, the only way to eat an elephant is one bite at a time.
Feelings of overwhelm generally prevent progress in life because they can lead to decreased motivation, reduced focus, and decreased productivity. Overwhelming emotions can also make it difficult for individuals to prioritize tasks and make decisions, leading to procrastination and a lack of forward momentum. Additionally, the feeling can contribute to stress and anxiety, which can negatively impact one's mental and physical health, making it even more challenging to be productive and achieve goals. As a result, the feelings cause people to avoid taking on new challenges, which is essential for growth and personal development.
Your Community: It's easier to pull someone off a chair than to pull someone onto one. Your friends are influencing you whether you realize it or not.
Friends hold people back from progress all the time. If they are problematic, they may discourage or judge your goals and aspirations, leading to decreased motivation and self-doubt. Secondly, they may engage in behaviors that are unhealthy or harmful, such as substance abuse, which can be a major obstacle to personal growth. They can also be enablers for your own negative behaviors, such as procrastination or avoidance, which can prevent you from progressing towards personal and professional goals. Honestly, it is important to access if your friends are causing stress and emotional turmoil, which can have a negative impact on your mental and physical health, leading to decreased ability to progress. Essentially, it's important to choose friends who support and encourage personal growth and progress.
Refuse to Take Life Ownership: Yes, things happened in the past but how long will we allow those experiences to rule over your present? When you play the blame game, you relinquish your power to progress and change.
Taking ownership of your life is important because it promotes personal responsibility and accountability, allowing you to take control of your own destiny and make choices that align with your values and goals. It also leads to increased self-esteem and confidence, as you recognize your own agency and power to create change in their lives. Taking ownership also allows you to break free from external circumstances and expectations, enabling you to live a life that is authentic and meaningful to you. As a result, you will be enabled to personally grow and development, as you are free to explore your passions and pursue your interests. Even more, it creates a sense of purpose and fulfillment, as you are able to make a positive impact in your life and in the lives of those around you. When you take control of your life, you are empowered to make meaningful choices that promote personal growth, and leads to a fulfilling and purposeful life.
Friend, you're more than capable of prospering this year because you already have everything it takes. Don't allow any of the things I mentioned above to steal the best year of your life from you.
