A Necessary Goodbye

Dear Friend,

When I first started blogging in 2021, I had no idea how it would turn out. I think I wanted to think through some ideas, build a platform, and hone my gifts. But as time passed and seasons changed, so has its focus.

I've gone from teaching, to chronicling my life, to expanding the platform to accomodate diverse voices. Together, we've built something special. Yet, even though I'm proud of all we've been able to accomplish, there is a time when every leader must decide when things come to an end.

This is that moment for me.

You've seen me at my lowest. You've seen me withstand the pressure of my calling. You've seen me build my bank accounts and go down to nothing. You've seen me uproot my life and begin building a new one. One reason I've been so open about this process is because I wanted you to see that following God will be the hardest thing you'll ever do.

And with tears streaming down my eyes as I write this to you, I hope I've modeled the sincerity of the journey. I haven't always gotten it right. At times, I've felt as if I were letting you in too close. Letting you see into me even when I wanted to give up.

And yet, you stuck around. You didn't give up on me. You didn't judge me for crashing out or questioning. You watched, some silently and others with applause.

To both groups, thank you.

I say all that to say that this month is the last month that the blog will be updated. I've made the decision to shut it down effective June 30, 2025, which is the one year anniversary of me officially leaving my career. While the blog will continue living on brianawhiteside.com it will be inactive; however, you're free to review posts at any time.

Friend, thank you for journeying with me. Thank you for trusting me and the other writers with your attention.

Thank you for being a friend.

Until we cross paths again,

B
